Which would you get?
Poll Time!
My father-in-law is looking for a new SUV for my Mother-in-law. Right now there are 4 choices. 3 of them will fit in the garage, one is too tall. He wants AWD or 4WD for the wintertime so he can use it for work (my mother-in-law doesn't leave the house in the winter). I'm actually rooting for the GLK350.
So out of these 4 choices what would you get?
Mercedes-Benz GLK350
Audi Q5
Range Rover HSE Sport
Chevy Tahoe Hybrid 2-mode

He likes the Range Rover, but he also knows that they have a poor service record, so he may not go for that.

In all reality he's going to get a smaller SUV than the last two I listed. My mother-in-law has a hard time getting into anything you have to climb into.
We went and looked at the baby Merc and it's rather sweet.
And also Zuk, why do you never do the poll? You always suggest something else.

She's scared to drive in the winter weather unless it's been dry for several days, but if it's wet or it's snowing, forget about it.

Yeah like sit at a 45 degree angle blocking the entire entrance into the office parking lot while the bitch behind the wheel rummages through her fucking purse.

Rednecks don't drive $45K midsize 4dr pickups.

They start at $32K and you can get it with a 5-speed manual.

Yeah but once you get the 5.3L the price goes high.
and i think the 5cyl would be slow as balls, and don't remember if you can get the off-road package or not.

Re: Poll Time!
That thing is supposed to be getting the 3.6L V6 for 2010, but unless it's a truck only engine, it doesn't have shit for torque. Also rumored for 2010 was a V6 diesel, then I would think that thing would be worth owning

No and no.
All Hummer projects are scrapped, the H3T barely made the cut off. and GM ditched their light duty diesel engine

Re: Poll Time!
No GM just announced the no diesel thing a few weeks ago.
I know nothing of the 3.6L thing though, because i think the atlas engines are done soon. and they put the 3.6 in everything, just hope they don't.

Re: Poll Time!
Well that was a mistake, out of all the shit they could have dropped, the small displacement diesel for the trucks was probably the stupidest thing to do. Their truck sales could have gone up easily.

Re: Poll Time!
Wait, it's hard to market a diesel truck? Says who? I know several people who want a diesel engine in a small truck like the Ranger and Tacoma, and people (me included) that would like a diesel engine in light duty half-ton trucks.
I guarantee that it is twice as difficult to market diesel cars in the US than Diesel trucks. Plus if someone were to offer a diesel in a non-Heavy Duty truck, commercial sales would increase.

Re: Poll Time!
actually now that i read all of them have shevled their light duty diesel projects, it thought ford was still keeping theirs, but i guess not.
So GM, Ford, Dodge, Toyota all have put those projects on hold indefinitely
