First votes go to Obama
Dixville Notch goes to Obama! Haha!
Bush won that riding by a landslide in 2000 and 2004.

It actually hasn't got for a democrat in 40 years. So that must mean something...

Jesus. Turnout is going to be fucking insane. In Canada I went to vote at 5:30 pm, right after work, and I just walked right through and out.

Re: First votes go to Obama
Now, I don't want to sound like an idiot, but are you guys voting in Canada for your own government at the same time we are? or is it for our government? I'm confused.

I voted for Obama. I also voted for the NDP in Canada in our elections a couple weeks back.

Only some Canadians get to vote in the US election. It's a minority, but we make our voices heard.

Sure it does. I've already mailed in my official US ballot. We have designated 'voting districts'. Mine, for instance is in Ventura County California, so I got to vote on all the Californian propositions, as well as the smaller elections.

Oh god that's the truth. There was at least one newspaper editorial up here bitching about the possibility of an Obama presidency - because Canada "deserves" to have the first minority leader.

That's crazy, I didn't even know you could do that. Actually that's not crazy, that's awesome, because by a poll I saw, other countries have polled that Obama is the #1 choice for president.

Well, the cats out of the bag. The only reason I can vote is because I'm an American, just living in Canada.

Speaking of minorities --- apparently, the local Obama supports sent a young black women door-to-door in one of the biggest redneck, Dixie flag-waving, shotgun-totin', minority-hatin' areas in Orlando.

Ok, I don't really understand how dual citizenship works, but that's cool either way.

I'm actually a bit of a rare case. I was born here, but my dad was a natural born citizen from California. So, when I was born, my parents just registered me as an American born on foreign soil. Plus since I was born here I simply received Canadian citizenship. Apparently it's really hard to get it now, but for a period of time around the early 80s all you had to do was register our kid on his birth and you were in. Still pretty rare. I was lucky. There was some talk that I'd have to choose one or the other, but that's subsided.
