Reminds me of the first car I drove for a while when I got my license, an '87 Sentra. Carbon, 70hp, 5spd, no frills at all but very good mileage and very reliable.

I doubt that. You occassionally see 1930 cars for sale in ok condition for next to nothing, purely because they were non-descript.

I remember when back in '08 during the first recession and gas price hike that Geo Metros were going for more than they did when new.... kinda like that maybe for the Charade in 2030.
OR, it could be that the stuff you see if common everyday stuff. Model T's don't go for very high bucks, nor do regular old 60's sedans... but the rare and unique stuff does and this fits in that category.

That's cool. It reminds me of why I loved that 88 Corolla ("WallyWagon") so much. Fun, simplistic, reliable, and efficient. In some ways I liked that old car more than my Civic, or even the CRZ.

I would love to have a barebones old daily driver like that. Wouldn't want to take the kids anywhere in that deathtrap, or drive it in winter, but would still love getting 40mpg in something light and tossable and cheap (hopefully) to maintain.

Is it just me or do airbags in some directions cover up the fact that car interiors are becoming less safe again? Not that I'm complaining but exposed gear linkages and protruding metal gauges?

I don't like the Spyker interior but I'm glad that companies are trying different things. It's just surprising that it can be considered not deadly by today's curtain airbag standards.
