I say "Jag-u-ar", but then I also say "Nee-san" and occasionally "Ma-tsu-da"...

I don't actually know. it was more than a minute and less than ten.
Or maybe it was only a minute but felt like ten.

Re: Jaguar...
I was thinking this morning that this topic should be less about Jaguar's pronunciation and more about how the company is almost irrelevant.
Then I saw this:
Hopefully they can price it below the Boxster and start chasing younger buyers.

I say Hun-die.
Or at least that's how they pronounce it on the commercials.

Yay, I win with my initial posts. I think.Pennzoil GT-R wrote:Its pronounced Jag-you-ar...we just accept Americans have their own way of pronouncing things.
And FWIW, i've met members of the Porsche family, and as they pronounced their own name much closer to Porsh than anything else, i'm going to side with them on that one. Noone says Porsh-ah in Europe.
Of course that is assuming that we believe that if Penzz did actually meet anybody from the Porshe family that they referred to themselves by name. Oh yes I, Ferdinand Porsche, found your story about shopping in London these days just incredibly fascinating.

It's Jag u ar as the way the English company would pronounce it's own name. It's the pronunciation of a proper name.
Say "Japan".
Did you say it like "Jap-an"? Wrong. You should have said "NI-HON" or "NI-PPON" or something like that, it's how they'd say it.
Ok, say "Spain"... wrong. You're meant to say "espagna'... get my point?
LOL!!!
Nah, I don't have the spanish n with the thingy on top of it so I used gn instead
