It's disappointing because you can make about any car at least decent on the track with the right tune. That one I haven't found a way to make it close to acceptable yet. It might as well be in the truck class.

Damn, you guys tune every car and actually buy some setups?

I just max out the PI and hope for the best. I can't even work out the difference from changing tyre temps.

Really? I have a lot of cars that I can tell definitely handle better once the tires warm up. I don't buy many setups from the storefront...most of them are trash. But yeah, I tune all of my cars out pretty extensively. I can't think of more than a few of them that I didn't have to tune to get them to feel right for the way I drive them.

I probably just don't have the patience. A car with flaws is entertaining, although oversteer at the expense of traction out of corners cost me plenty of time against you guys.

The SHO, even in RWD form, understeers to the point of lunacy, then just snap oversteers (RWD) or drifts way wide (AWD) no matter how you tune it. It'll just be tuning the shitty handling to one extreme or another.

It reminds me A LOT of the GT-R. A car I was given but have never used outside of playing around with it once or twice.

Although last night I did the Murcielago LP640 challenge (stock cars only) and fought the thing for two races, barely beating the AI on Expert with no assists until I figured out how to drive it. It just HATES and brake or throttle input while in a turn. Its most happy to be trail braked and then chucked into a corner, smoothness need not apply, otherwise it understeers. After I figured it out I smoked the AI on Maple Valley. 5 laps in and I had half a lap lead.

Holy shit.

yeah i have only tried tuning a few of them. i dont have the patience to do it like some people do, especially not with all of my cars. i have almost 140 now. many i've only driven a couple miles. :roflmao:

and i am never satisfied with my collection. i am always changing cars classes, drivetrain, wheels, colors, etc. "oh wouldnt it be cool if i did this?" "oh this would be really cool to do this to that car"

anyone getting bored of this game at all? if i had alot of money it'd be alright so i could mess around with cars but grinding for money is fucking boring.

they need more tracks or game modes or something to freshen it up.

I'm still slogging through even mode, I'm on S class now :whipitgood:

Not bored, but I don't play it as often as I used to. I WANT to play online but I feel like I am ignoring event racing too much when I do, and I am so anal retentive about racing games I want to finish every damn race (like I did in FM2, and all the GT games) and get the achievement.

When that's done, I'll play online alot before FM4 or GT5 comes out and sucks my will to live.

Its hit or miss (literally). Sometimes you find a GOOD room and everyone races clean. And if someone comes in to ruin the fun, they're booted quick.

FYI, S class C1 Corvette twin turbo ZR1 swap is NOT FUN to drive.

The main problem is that the widest tires they probably let you use for alot of cars just arent wide enough. Thats why i dont even bother trying to make old or super slow cars like the versa into S, A, or even B class cars. The tires they let you upgrade to just dont cut it for those classes and you will always be at a disadvantage to cars that actually belong in those classes.

I put an LS7 into a Solstice but it was inferior to the actual Z06 in every way despite having a slightly better power/weight ratio. It handled like shit compared to the Z06, and I blame it on the fact that the tires on the Z06 are way wider than the Solstice. The Z06 has like 315s in the back and 275s in the front while the solstice has 265s front and back i believe.

I wanted to make a frankenstein 1954 mercedes 300SL gullwing, but the shitty tire choices wont allow it so i just kept it F class. they let you put an SLR engine into it and max out with like 235s. fucking stupid.

I did EVERY upgrade. Except drop weight. The tires are just too skinny. BUT, with my old Fairlady and Skyline, even with skinny tires they handle just fine with big ass motors swapped in.

I finally swapped the C5.R motor into my Faceman Vette and decimated the Corvette S class race. Fuck you, ZR1.

Next up is the Dodge and Viper races.... I wonder if I can swap a Viper V10 into a SRT-4 and make it AWD.....

Uh, yup. 225 is as wide as she gets. And only the Crissfire SRT-6 motor can be swapped. GHEY.

So I lowered it, put on some BBS wheels, painted it white and added an appropriate sticker on each door to make it..... a Neon SRT-4 ACR.

I did drive one in free play, and I can't tell if T10 made the interior look like shit by accident, or as a joke because in real life it is that horrible...

I think they stuffed up the front airdam in a similar way to the Hyundai Genesis. I actually like a lot about the new one, but they should have tried to keep the three seater theme for a bit of brand differentiation.

It's no doubt a great car but could struggle to top the 458. Luckily McLaren aren't going for volume sales even by exotic standards, so they'll have no problems meeting targets.

late summer/early fall

In a side note, I musta been out of it last night. Painted 90% of my cars metallic shit brown with light blue wheels because I found out shit brown was an option on the '79 Z28, and since I couldn't change the color of the stripes, I had to keep them blue (originally a white car) and matched the wheels to them.

Turn10 are a bit lazy and greedy. It would be great if there was ongoing support for the game through releases such as a free update of the new Silverstone GP layout.
