Toyota Venza
Looking at one of these for the wife in the near future. Basically a Camry station wagon though they want to call it a "Crossover". Comes with a 268 hp V6 and AWD (optional). Besides the grille and the backside that looks like a Volvo, I don't think it looks too bad, and the interior is set up nice. Too bad it gets above $30k by the time you start throwing options at it.

Re: Toyota Venza
i like it. its a good price for what you get. interior looks better than the typically somewhat bland ones that toyota puts out too.
so thats two crossovers based on the camry now between this and the highlander

I think it'd be a great family car. Not something I'd buy for myself, but if I were looking to get a nice wagony car for a family of 4+ that'd probably be it.

Re: Toyota Venza
The Venza will start at $25,975 for a front-wheel-drive (FWD) 4-cylinder model, and range up to $29,250 for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) V6 edition without options. Standard equipment is very good for a vehicle in this class, offering cruise control, fog lamps, 19" alloy wheels, HomeLink, XM satellite radio, a 6-disc CD changer, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, Hill-Start assist control, power accessories, steering-wheel mounted audio controls, and the Toyota Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.[8] Major options include automatic high beams with HID lighting, panoramic glass moonroof, Smart Key System, JBL sound system, voice-activated touch-screen DVD navigation system with Bluetooth, and rear DVD entertainment system.
sounds like you dont even really need many or any options..

For standard equipment, that's pretty fanstastic.

Yeah, a nice, light 4 cyl. MR2 would go down nice right about now.

It would be good for them to do. And not some sort of insanely expensive status car like the GT-R. Something small, light, fun... a roadster or a sports car to compete with the Miata, S2000, etc.
They won't be doing that any time soon though. Which is too bad.

Re: Toyota Venza
Toyota certainly sucks compared to its mid-90s self. Back then there was the Supra, MR2, Celica GT4 and Soarer/SC.
I don't know how the economic situation will affect the comeback of the Trueno or their GT-R competitor.

The Hyundai dealer here just got a loaded one in and I checked it out today. It looks awesome in person. It has a good interior for the price, and some fantastic seats.

I didn't look at the sticker price, but it was a 3.8 V6 Grand Touring and those run $27,500. I think the only option on that trim is an automatic transmission.
If I bought one, I'd be looking at the base 3.8, which is $25,000.

Plus I think things could possibly come around full circle and I could be getting a Toyota Wagon again.
