studded tires, that is...for next winter. not so much that i really need them, but driving to/from skiing in storms would be so much more fun. started thinking about this on monday driving back from breck across south park on a sheet of ice. also see lots of people around here running these http://www.hankooktireusa.com/product/tire_detail.asp?pid=910

seems like it would be really fun to be able to push it a bit more over the passes too.

Does it seem like where you're at there's a lot of ice on the roads? Because I wouldn't think its worth it if ice is spotty and areas are far a few in between.

I figured the DOT would leave some snow on the roads for some amount of traction.

usually lots of ice and very slick hardpacked snow between here and breckenridge, which i drive weekly.

roads like this are common in the high country. can be a bit of a handful with a stiff crosswind...
