New guitar? Cool. Not my thing... but not my guitar.
As we discussed in the other guitar thread, I ended up selling my Strat Plus and buying an ESP M1000 Maple.

It's like the opposite of my KH2. Looks really good in person and really cool next to the KH2.

That's cool. I've been really getting back into surf guitar, and there's really no better guitar to play it on than a vintage Strat / Jazzmaster / Jaguar. I went with the Jag, since I have a Strat already, and the Jazzmaster wasn't really doing it for me. Love the vintage wound single coils - great surf tone. Running it through a reverb drenched tube amp is fan-fucking-tastic.
Like your ESP, too. Again, not really my thing - but I get why you like it. I guess you're happy you got rid of the Strat then?
We need to start posting more guitar videos, I think. Or at least I do.

Thanks. Different

Yea, I am happy I sold my Strat. It was a really nice guitar but it never got played… so now it’s getting used and selling it allowed me to buy the new ESP, so it worked out.
I’ve also been meaning to make some playing videos, just haven’t done it. In fact, I’ve got a list of songs I to play (or learn to play) in a mesh. I’d like to do some of my own stuff too, but sometimes it sounds really good and others it sounds like butt.

No, I used to have an 80s era Japanese Tele, with a custom pick guard. But that was back in law school. I sold it to buy my Epi Dot reissue, which I in turn sold because i was being paid shit as a articling student and never played it.
So I've only had the US Strat and the Martin for the last 5 years or so. This is my first new guitar in a long time.

Ah, nice. That's a good choice then. Nothing worse than a guitar that never gets played. Especially a nice one.
I need to get myself back up to speed before I can start making much by way of videos. It's been a while since I played. The ex would always complain about the noise. Fortunately my wife is way more awesome with that.
Amazing how quickly it can come back though, with a little practice. Couple of songs I used to love to play are still in there... the usual blues stuff - Clapton, BB King, etc. That said I've been finding myself moving away from the blues lately. A little too melancholy for me right now. Like the bright, up beat, tones of surf. Go figure.
