Well we all know now re-entry was unsuccessful
I saw a documentary on this the other day.It broke up over Texas in a path 200 miles long and 10 miles wide.The whole in the left wing damaged it bad enough for heat to get in at I believe either 13,000 or 16,000 degrees farenheit and it dissentegrated.They pieced what they found together in a warehouse and made there determination.I am sure there is a link out there.I believe it was on Nova.It was tragic.

Actually, this thread was about the Atlantis mission that happened after the fatal Columbia mission. The shuttle mission talked about in that thread ended successfully.
