Or how Peugeot built an Audi TT sedan and lingered dangerously close to BMW trademark infringement.

I think Nissan is going to have something to say about it, too.

I think we are going back through a "Beige" car design period again. New cars are starting to look too much like each other. Subaru is one of the worst right now, the Legacy looks like an Accord, the Forester looms like all the other CUVs, and the Impreza sedan (which I have liked in past forms) looks too much like a Corolla. Subarus used to be distinct, now they are blending into the architecture.

because too many magazine editors (coughidiotsatcaranddrivercough) kept saying they looked unattractive. now the very same (coughidiotsatcaraddrivercough) are pining for those days.

or perhaps the folks at Fuji think they'll sell better in the US if they look like everyone else. because lets face it, most of the US car-buying public all buy cookie-cutter three-box boring warm-milk-flavored sedans.

yeah, I would agree with that. I just got a subscription to Car and Driver to try it out and I did like Automobile better. Automobile didn't test a lot of daily-driver type cars, they stuck to more interesting stuff.
