i think i may go and get some more of that starbucks coffee. the trick is you need to get it freshly brewed, however. when coffee sits for more than a few minutes, it turns ugly. ph gets all fucked up.

i wish they'd hurry up and get clover machines installed at all the locations. :smelly:

ugh. i went back to starbucks for the pike place roast, and it's clear that sbux coffee only tastes good if you get a cup immediately after it's brewed. the stuff i have was clearly sitting for a little while, and i can taste the bitter acid.

I understand what you're saying...something's missing. It's like the old shitty restaurant you go to where the waitresses have smoker's coughs and oral herpes, the food's greasy and has bits of the peeling wallpaper mixed into it, and the coffee's weak, and you have to wipe the dead cockroach off the table yourself before you sit down, but the place has been there forever and you and your friends all hang out there and it's interesting and everything and everyone's got a story attached.....then one day the place gets bought out, completely remodeled with a new staff and it looks and feels nothing like the old place, but everything is hospital-grade clean, the toilets all flush when they're supposed to, there's not that faint familiar odor of cat piss coming off the wait staff, the food doesn't taste like cardboard and there are 8 blends of coffee and finally someplace in town you can order a Big Red from the fountain because NOBODY else has that shit in a restaurant anywhere.

But it's just not as good. Nearly every single thing in and of itself is better. But the sum of the whole isn't as good. And it never will be.

Yeah...if it's not pop ups, I think it'll be fine. And people can find ways to cope individually *koffkoffadblockplusaddonforfirefoxkoffkoff*

As I was reading through things, it seems I can either pay to keep the place ad free, or individual members can actually pay through their own profiles to have the ads turned off just for them.

But I'm waiting to see what happens. I doubt it'll be too bad.
