Doubt it, I wouldnt drive like a maniac and would always wear a helmet, gear etc. Plus I wouldnt use it every day.
Eventually you'd get used to it and do crazier shit, especially on a sportbike. Who could resist? The problem with motorcycles is that even if you're the world's best driver you're counting on other people to not be fucking retarded. In the past I thought it would be cool to have one but after working in my job for a few years I've since changed my mind. Most motorcycle accidents end up very bad. It's usually either the guy just dumped his bike and is fine or he's so fucked up he's going to need a medevac or a body bag.

I think the risk is probably worth the enjoyment. There are countless people who have been riding for years and never had a serious accident. You just have to constantly be aware of your surroundings, and always be prepared and careful. And I wouldnt get a sport bike, just for that reason. A big cruiser for me.
But at least half the time when I see someone riding a bike, sport or cruiser, they arent wearing a helmet. That's just idiotic and wildy reckless if you ask me, but whatever, it's their brain to spill all over the road.

I don't think you could get into any bike club actually. Maybe go join the goldwing association or something.

It's still a roll of the dice. Talk to anyone who has been riding for awhile and it's pretty much a guarantee they've been in some kind of accident. At least in a car there is the body to absorb forces. On a bike the only body absorbing force is your own. The best helmet and riding gear in the world won't help you when you're flying through the air towards a tree at 50 mph.

It's probably different for everyone. Some people wouldnt think the fun and enjoyment of riding would be worth the risk, but others would. I think I would, especially since I would only ride it a couple times a week or so. It just seems like something that would be too fun to miss out on.

I drove by an accident, car vs bike, about a month ago. it wasn't pretty. ambulance was already there, but didn't look like it had been there for long. they were doing cpr on the bike dude in the middle of the road. i don't know if he made it or not. enough to make me not want one.

wow, what a burn! that's because people on goldwings usually are like older, more toned-down bikers, right? the softer kind of rider? but in contrast, you're saying that you're not like that! i get it! your fat-ass left lane clogging flaunts your disrespect of the rules of normal society! you're a such a rebel as you sell people cell phones in your retail job at radio shack! boy, you really set the fucking standard for biker society, you fucking golden paragon of motorcycle culture, you.

Re: i wish i bought a faster car...
Last summer my coworker and I were driving on the freeway in heavy ass traffic. A guy on a motorcycle was splitting the lanes between the carpool and number 1 lanes. Perfectly legal to do in California. A dumbass decides to (illegally) change lanes from the carpool lane into the #1 lane. Motorcyclist swerves to avoid her, narrowlymisses our work truck, and plows into the Chevy truck infront of us at about 50 mph. My coworker skids the brakes on the huge ass E450 work truck that we were in and just avoided pinning the guy. I jumped out of the truck and started giving aid. At first I thought he was dead because it was pretty messy and he soiled himself pretty good. I have no idea whatever happened after the medics arrived. I won't ride a streetbike on public roads now. Too many fucking idiots here.Omni wrote:honor m4n wrote:Omni wrote:honor m4n wrote:id rather not be one of those guys..

That's some scary shit. A friend of a friend told me a similar story. One minute another rider was giving him a thumbs up then the next minute he sees the guy pinned under a truck pretty much broken in half backwards.

That's the whole problem. If other people weren't so fucking stupid it would be very possible to ride a bike safely and without incident. I've almost been hit enough times in a car to make me think twice about getting a bike.

exactly why it shouldn't be legal.it isn't that guys fault, its everyone else's. If I lived anywhere else in america, i'd get a bike, but even driving on the freeways in a four-wheeled vehicle here is taking your life into your own hands.
