Very scary crash and pictures Felipe Massa

Massa crashes after getting hit on the head by a piece metal falling from Barichello's car:

alonso knew hed put in a good time but he was running around parc ferme asking all the other drivers what theyd done :roflmao:

I think next thing will be a roof...two accidents in twee weeks time where one driver got killed and one wounded by objects hitting them in the head.

His wheel fell off because apparently the stupid frisbee wheel cover used was not clicked into place as the wheel nut was attached. The frisbee-like disc needs to be clicked into place so that it does not begin to unravel by this disc not being locked into place then spinning the wheel nut, according to former F1 driver Martin Brundle the BBC commentator. Thus part way through Alonso's lap the wheel nut finally fell off and so too the tire.

They say those [silly] aerodynamic wheel frisbees shave 3/10 ths. off a lap, but if all the teams have them where is the advantage? Thankfully FOTA is considering banning those ungainly and silly discs.
