Ferrari the 3rd team poised to quit F1

Post by Pennzoil GT-R on Tue May 12, 2009 10:48 am

Red Bull and Toyota have already said they will not enter in 2010 if the FIA doesnt back down over the new two tier championship rules, and today Ferrari issued a statement saying they would do the same

Seriously, Mosley should have fucking gone when he was caught in that basement. Cashes in on a couple of years of excitement due to Schumacher leaving a void to be filled, and now thinks he's F1 god or something.

aaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha WTF? That's like the New York Yankees leaving baseball.

Much as I'm not a big fan of Ferrari, them leaving F1 would be catastrophic for the sport.

And what the fuck are the 2-tier championship rules?

you can spend 40 mil max and do lots of testing

or you can spend as much as you like and do hardly any testing

thus far mosley's support on this idea goes along of the lines of every driver being opposed to it, the association of teams voting unaminously against it, and 3 teams going as far as announcing they will pull out of F1 it its not thrown out. he's really outdone himself here

frankly, i'd love to see all the big manufacturers leave F1, because a new racing series would turn up eventually. it would actually be cool to see some new open-wheeled series with top drivers/cars and different management.

No, the two tiered system is just stupid. :smelly:

Ferrari do suck though. Very Happy

Half the advantages that the budget capped teams would have are things they wouldn't even be able to afford to develop with such tight budgets. eg. Twice the power boost (160hp) from their KERS system.

renault have now said they will quit too. i guess if you take red bull's threat to mean toro rosso too then that's half the grid gone if mosley doesnt back down, and apparently 30% of people at grands prix are there to watch ferrari anyway.

What they say they'll do and what they'll actually do varies. Now it's just a game of chicken

the FIA has backed down from the two-tier idea, and are willing to listen to alternate ideas to the $40 million budget cap.
