So far, I've had a pretty decent day...winning my game 92-62 with two players left to play on each team, and I'm currently the 2nd highest scorer of the day in my league, even though my receivers so far have done jackshit.

My fucking primary RB got more receiving yards than each of two of my WRs. And my TE got more receiving yards than those two WRs combined. :jay:

Yeah, I didn't expect much out of Williams, but I expected Santonio to help me out. Geesh.

My scores for the first game are all tallied, but my opponent has one more to go tomorrow night. Unless Donald Driver has an epic record-setting day tomorrow and pulls in 43 fantasy points, and I wouldn't put it past my shitty luck for that to happen, then I should have the first game.

I'm afraid to make a move with my WRs right now. Santonio and Williams are playing weak teams next week and I think their performances there will net some points and give a good frame of reference on what to expect and where I should go from there. I know if I dump one or both of them now, then next week they'll each score 7 TDs.

Ehhh...I guess some team had Royal and dumped him just before the weekend and picked him back up off waivers.

Curry had a better night than most of my receivers so I kept him around...ditched Williams and picked up Ike Hilliard for a 3rd or 4th option.

And so the carousel continues...

Re: Fantasy Football

Post by JaysonAych on Mon Sep 15, 2008 11:46 pm

When I checked my fantasy team before heading to work today, I saw I was down 63-69...the other guy had all his players play (in a stroke of luck for me, he had started the Ravens D and a Ravens WR, and didn't replace them when their game was cancelled) and I'm thinking all I need is for Marion Barber to show up, and I've got this in the bag. So at work, I watch up until halftime and Barber is stinking up the joint....16 total yards or something.

At halftime, it's time for me to go home, and I've got to get groceries and batteries and shit to replenish what I used up in the storm yesterday, and I'm trying to catch what I can on the radio when I'm in the car, but I don't hear anything about Barber, just that the score is going nuts and I'm biting my nails the whole time.

The game ended just as I was a couple of miles from home, and finally heard Barber's stat line of 114 total yards and 2 TDs and I yell out YES YES YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD, YES!

Making some moves on my roster...sitting Drew Brees and starting Cutler. Sitting Marv and putting in newly-acquired Matt Jones from JAX...with Bob Sanders looking to be out for a while and Indy's offense playing like shit, I have a feeling Indy's defense is going to let Jacksonville find the end zone quite a bit this weekend. Ike Hilliard and Santonio Holmes did pretty well. LenDale White is doing decently as a 2nd back, but with my reserve RB, I've dumped Fred Taylor and picked up Warrick Dunn. Also dumped Hester and picked up Vincent Jackson from SD for my reserve WR.

I'm 2-0 in my league and 2nd in the power rankings so far :talon2:

Bad news though...in my next game, with my shitty WR situation, the guy I'm playing against has Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. :undies: :undies:

I match up pretty well with him everywhere else though...overall, the matchup preview is only giving him a 3 point edge despite that. We'll see how it goes...

Oh and Warrick's truly done - I think they only gave him carries last game because it was against his old team. Furthermore he still only got like 35 yards, just managed to tack on a TD for points.

Who are the best RBs/WRs available on the wire?

What really pissed me off this week was that I played Andre Johnson thinking 'postponed' meant like playing Tuesday and now it turns out that yahoo is instead counting that as the bye week and their November 9th game will count.

It should at least have allowed me to replace him or made it clear that he shouldn't be on the roster.

He still got more points than Fred Taylor did the last two weeks. This week doesn't count, as my sister probably could have rushed for at least 80 against the Colts, without pads. :speedowethimself:

Right, now best free agent RBs are Chris Perry (CIN) LeRon McClain (BAL) and Felix Jones (DAL).

Best WRs are Brandon Lloyd (CHI) Hank Baskett (PHI) and Chansi Stuckey (NYJ).

God I'm getting killed today. Indy had a bye week so I had to make substitutions at WR and K and they haven't paid off. I started Cutler again this week and he had a weak day, and Brees ended up with a monster fucking day despite not having Shockey or Colston to throw to. And after 20 minutes of gameplay, Marion Barber has 9 fucking total yards.

The worst part about it is that the other team didn't make adjustments for the bye, and he's missing his QB and a WR. And I'm still biting my nails :undies:
