I don't care if she knows anything about baseball or not...if I found some 140 year old thing in my house, I'd make sure it was worth something or not. I don't care if it's an ashtray or a douche bag, or what...I'd have it appraised before hocking it.

A guy at work had a buddy that bought a car which was advertised as a '69 ford in a newspaper back in the seventies. The old woman said it was her sons but he died in the war and she just wanted to get rid of it for $800. When they showed up to the house the car was under a tarp in a barn covered in dust and bird shit. It was a fucking Boss Mustang, she had no clue. He paid the $800 bucks and they took off. A week later he felt so bad that he went back and gave her another $1000 bucks.

To be fair there's a lot of old grap out there, and it's not clear she'd have even, really, known how old it was when she found it.
