Challenger-based new Daytona Charger

Post by JaysonAych on Fri Nov 06, 2009 5:36 pm

Aside from the glued-on fake hood scoops, this thing is a slam dunk when compared to the faux Firebirds.

I like it. It looks just like the old one only the front looks more integrated than the original. Unlike the GM stuff where it's obviously a tacked on bodykit.
It's probably a lot easier when the source car brings absolutely nothing to the table that the original didn't already feature.

Mr. Norm's did a 'Cuda:

But again, it's nothing the Challenger wasn't already. just a different grille.
There's also a convertible. A little disappointed that the "shaker" isn't really a shaker, just a functional hood scoop for the blower.

And on the Daytona, i like everything except the tacked on hood and door scoops. I'd like to see what the rear looks like. Does it still have the stock challenger lights/rear fascia, or di they go through the trouble of actually moulding that to look like a Charger Daytona too?

If you click the first link in the OP, there's a shot of the rear. They took the existing Challenger lights and shaped them a bit to look like the Charger's.

It looks good. Very Cartoonish, but good. If anything it kind of resembles "The King" from Cars.

What I don't get is why they'd make a Challenger Daytona, since there never was such a thing.
